Ultrafiltration

Ultrafiltration (UF) is a pressure-driven membrane separation process that separates particulate matter from soluble components in the carrier fluid (such as water). UF membranes typically have pore sizes in the range of 0.01 – 0.10 μm (micrometer) and have a high removal efficiency for bacteria and most viruses, colloids and silt. The smaller the nominal pore size, the higher the removal efficiency.

It is the ability to remove bacteria, viruses and other pathogens that has increased the use of UF membranes for water treatment applications. Using UF membranes, raw water can be disinfected without the use of excessive levels of chemical disinfectants, like chlorine, which can result in chlorinated by products. In addition, certain microbes like cryptosporidium cannot be effectively controlled with chlorine and typical media filtration alone. Ultrafiltration provides a positive barrier for microorganisms in water that can be effectively monitored.

Water Zone offers two types of filtration products: Dead End and Submerged.

Reverse Osmosis

Water Zone offers a complete line of Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems to meet the needs of each individual client. Systems can range from 1 Gallon Per Minute (GPM) to 800 GPM on a single skid. All systems are custom designed, based on the client’s raw water source and desired final water quality.

Water Zone offers brackish, nanofiltration, and desalination systems in single- and double-pass (product staged) configurations.

Media Filtration

A water filter is a relatively inexpensive device that will improve the overall taste, smell and appearance of your drinking water, while removing some of the harmful suspended particles and chemicals found therein. Filtration can also be used to protect other process systems (such as Reverse Osmosis), and equipment from debris that can foul or damage process components.

Water Zone offers a complete line of Industrial Water Filtration products, including carbon, multi-media, sand, greensand, inline mesh strainer, and cartridge and bag filtration, to name a few. Systems are custom designed and built for each application.

Water Softeners

Calcium (Ca2+) and magnesium (Mg2+) ions that cause water hardness can be removed fairly easily by using an ion exchange (water softening) procedure. Softening involves the replacement of the hardness ions with a non-hardness ion. Water softeners usually use sodium (Na+) as the exchange ion. As hard water passes through a softener, the calcium and magnesium trade places with sodium ions. Sodium ions thus replace the hardness ions in the water.

Water Zone offers a complete line of Industrial Water Softening products to meet the needs of each individual client. Equipment is custom design/build equipment. In every case, the customer’s requirements and preferences are considered prior to any design.

Ion Exchange

Deionization (ion exchange) is a very efficient process for removing dissolved salts and minerals; mixed-bed deionizers provide higher-quality, neutral pH, and better removal of silica and CO2 than mono-bed systems.

Deionization systems can produce the quality of water required for any specific application, up to 18 megohm/cm resistivity @25C.

Water Zone offers a complete line of industrial ion exchange products to meet the needs of each individual client. Ion exchange options include softening, two-bed, mixed-bed, packed-bed (to 200 GPM/train), ion specific removal systems (i.e., nitrate, arsenic, etc.), electrodeionization (EDI), and non-regenerable units. All systems are custom design/build equipment. In every case, the customer’s requirements and preferences are considered prior to any design.

Containerized

Water Zone can provide complete containerized water treatment packages. This can potentially save thousands of dollars over client-provided water treatment buildings, especially if a new building is required.

Water Zone picks out the best “one-way” shipping containers (20-ft., 40-ft. and High Cube type), and provides all electrical and mechanical connections inside, as well as a no-slip surface on the floor.

Units can be insulated and air conditioned as required, based on their final destination. Client will have one outside electrical power drop. And there will be 3-4 flanged outside mechanical connections.

So call Water Zone today and let us customize a Containerized Water Treatment System for you.
